Bike rentals

All SXSW bike rentals require a reservation request to be submitted in advance. Reservations are not confirmed until full rental payment is received. Due to limited inventory, bikes cannot be held without payment.

A credit card authorization is required at pickup for all rentals.

• City Bikes: $200 authorization
   
• Premium City Bikes: $250 authorization
   

This is not a charge. The authorization will be released upon return of the bike in good condition. In the event of damage, loss, or theft, applicable charges may be applied up to the authorization amount.

At pickup, renters must present:

• A valid government-issued photo ID
   
• A credit or debit card in your name
   

Bikes will not be released without both.

Bikes must be returned by the agreed-upon return date and time. Late returns may result in additional charges. If you need to extend your rental, please contact us as soon as possible—extensions are subject to availability.

Each rental includes a lock. Renters are responsible for properly locking the bike at all times.

• Bikes must be locked through the frame (not just a wheel)
   
• Overnight outdoor locking is not permitted
   
• If a bike is stolen, the renter is responsible for the full replacement cost
   

Please notify us immediately if a bike is lost or stolen.

Normal wear is expected. However, renters are responsible for damage resulting from misuse, accidents, neglect, or improper locking. Repair or replacement costs may be charged as needed.

• Bikes may not be sub-rented or loaned to others
   
• Riding while intoxicated is prohibited
   
• Bikes may not be taken outside the Austin area without permission
   

Helmets are available upon request. While helmet use is strongly encouraged, riding without a helmet is at the renter’s own risk.

Renters assume all responsibility for injury, loss, or damage incurred during the rental period. By renting a bike, you agree to all terms outlined in our rental waiver.
